Q: What are types of pain and suffering damages you can recover in a Florida slip and fall lawsuit?
A: In a Florida slip and fall lawsuit when you are injured you are entitled to recover damages known as pain and suffering, which are broken down into several different elements. You have your bodily injury and your resulting physical pain and suffering. You can recover compensation for that. You can recover compensation for your disability or impairment that has resulted from the injuries that you sustained. Sometimes in injuries there is scarring and disfigurement that happen. That’s an element of the pain and suffering that you are entitled to recover. There’s inconvenience and loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life. For example, many injuries result in some type of disability which restricts your ability to either work or enjoy the activities which you did before the accident. Many times injuries restrict people from participating in their hobbies, be it sports, being it any other type of hobby. Those are the types of pain and suffering damages you can recover in a Florida slip and fall lawsuit.
